Japanese scientists have made a paper-thin battery聽 Lithium-polymer base which can be produced with printer know-how.
In Advanced Materials New development Centre (AMIC) explored technology enables a cheap industrial production. The slim and bendable own design, the battery also was used in solar panels, reported the actual Asian Technology Platform Tech-On. In contrast to lithium-ion batteries are based lithium-polymer batteries, not a liquid but a good electrolyte. The developers, however, it is possible to offer the battery in some sort of paper-like design, which guarantees maximum flexibility in development and use. Through the incorporation in solar power panels to produce the battery and could therefore also be familiar with store energy. Also, an additional coating to defend the battery is not a problem
Currently, scientists are experimenting with two prototypes that bring it to room temperature previously at two and three volts output voltage. What capacity can be achieved with a printed Ibm thinkpad t61 electric battery cell remained, the researchers so far, however, still guilty. In contrast to lithium-ion batteries are based lithium-polymer batteries, not a liquid but a good electrolyte. As regards the utilization electrode materials used and then the polymer electrolyte envelop the japanese scientists still in peace and quiet. Japanese scientists have made a paper-thin battery Lithium-polymer base which can be produced with printer technological know-how. The thickness of a battery was stated to become only 500 micrometers. The research project is scheduled from end 2011.
